The idea behind Stitch Fix is very cool. It's basically like having your own personal shopper. Someone else does all the picking out and you try it on then decide what you like and what you don't. My husband does his a lot for me especially if I need something for a special occasion. He sees things different than me and puts less "lady thinking" into it.
So how does it work? First you start your account (GO HERE https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3393871 you will answer a series of questions and pick out the styles of clothes you do and don't like. They will also ask you questions about the type of body style you have, how you like your clothes to fit and the amount of money you like to spend on each item. I was most concerned about the cost of the clothes. I usually don't spend a lot of money on clothes and was worried that they would be very expensive. Most of the reviews I found showed the clothes to be similar to what you would pay at a department store. The service costs $20 but that is applied towards the cost of any item(s) you choose to keep and you have 3 days from the day of arrival to try on your clothes and decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back. Shipping is free both ways. The stylist will also look at your Pinterest accounts so it's a good idea to clean up your boards or create a stitch fix board for them.
Okay so on to my box.... The clothes come in a cute Stitch Fix box and are wrapped separate in tissue paper. Included is a note from your stylist and a style card showing several ways to style the items in your box. Here is what I got....
Collective Concepts Top I would not have picked this out myself or even paid much attention to it in the store. Again, the perks of having someone else pick out things for you. The color is perfect for Spring, the fit is flattering and the material is light enough for warm Texas weather.
The styling card really came in handy with this one. The style card showed it paired with a bright pink/coral top. It's much prettier with the bright color underneath.
41Hawthorn Top
My absolute favorite piece! The pattern is so fun. The fit is very flattering and the material is very nice. There are small details in the way it's made that set this apart from other shirts.
Kut from the Kloth Boyfriend Jeans
These fit really well and the material is a little stretchy so they are very comfortable.
This wasn't exactly my style but it's made very well. It's fully lined, with gold studs/buckles and a detachable coin purse.
If you keep everything in your box Stitch Fix gives you a 25% discount. I loved the clothing items but didn't really care for the bag, but with the discount it was cheaper to just keep the bag. My total was $217 for 5 items which came to about $43 per item! You can schedule your Fix to be monthly or just when you want to add something new to your wardrobe. It was so great trying things on at home and mixing matching with things I already owned to see if they would work well for me. Even better though was not having to go to the store and find it all!!
Overall, I definitely recommend trying at least one box.
Thanks for reading.
